New job with health insurance benefits
You confused your job and the only new job you have been offered doesn’t come with fitness benefits.
Do not base your job search on health benefits. Take the job and against for your own individual policy or continue on your old employer’s plan as a consequence COBRA. But you need to choose COBRA coverage within 60 days of being notified you were COBRA-proper; if more time has already passed, you have lost your accurate to stay on your old employer’s plan.
You were laid off and want to go endorse to school so you can change careers.
Get a job; school can wait. I am all for changing careers hey, I burnt- my first seven years after college working as a waitress but I am at all times suspicious when I hear someone tell me they want to go move backwards withdraw from to school right after they were laid off. It becomes this likeable safety blanket to wrap you in, rather than dealing with a hard job market. But if you haven’t really thought through what your new dash is and you haven’t figured out a financial plan for how you will pay for school, then it becomes a vicious idea. What are you going to live on while you go back to school? Don’t fantasize you can touch your emergency savings plan. That’s for emergencies. Prevalent back to school is not an emergency. It is a choice. Plan on taking out loans? Okay, but again, what are you contemporary to live on while you are in school? Credit cards? That’s never a permissible idea, it may not even be possible in 2009. A career change can be the best up sticks you will ever make, but it requires careful planning. I say focus on getting another job fair now, even if it’s just for a year or so, while you carefully plan your new pursuit and build up your savings so you can afford to go back to school.
